Sure you could lose a few pounds fast by not eating for a whole week but that is not healthy and you won’t be able to keep it off. To be successful at the goal of weight loss you have to develop a weight loss plan that works for you. If there is something that isn’t working you can change the plan a little, but you must continue your program! You will succeed as long as you stick to the weight loss plan at hand.

First, you need to change in your eating habits. To do this you still need to eat, but you must eat healthy food. Also, the traditional way of eating is actually slowing down your body’s fat burning process. Instead of eating three huge meals every day, replace it with six small meals every day. This way you are boosting your body’s metabolism. And at the same time, you will feel full and therefore are likely to eat less. Eat in intervals of 2 hours each for optimum fat burning.

The next part consists of you being ready both mentally and physically. Set a start day, and on that day go grocery shopping and only buy the healthy good foods you know you will need. Don’t buy any clothes; feel free to start your exercise in the clothes you own. As you see your weight loss success, you will be getting fitter and those big clothes will not fit any more.

You did not get overweight and out of shape overnight and you will not get fit and trim overnight either. Weight loss is not a quick fix, it is important to keep in mind that when starting on any weight loss program, to realize that you are not just changing your weight, you are changing your life.
